Silver American Eagles are available each year in bullion, proof, and burnished options from the US Mint. The bullion and proof versions of the coin are also available each year as certified coins. At a minimum, certified coins are assigned a numerical grade from the Sheldon numeric scale.
This scale includes numbers from 1 to 70 as possible grades. A grade of 1 often represents a coin that is just above cull condition and has severe wear and tear, while a grade of 70 indicates a coin that is still in perfect condition as judged by the NGC or PCGS.
On the obverse side of these 2020 Silver American Eagles, you will find the iconic Walking Liberty design. Created in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman, this design embodies the belief that America always has a bright future lying ahead of it. This is symbolized by Liberty’s figure walking toward the sun on the horizon with the American flag over her shoulders.
The reverse face of 2020 1 oz Silver American Eagles includes the heraldic eagle of the United States. This design was the first ever used on the reverse of an American coin when the US Mint issued its first coins in 1794. This is the modern version of that seal and includes an American bald eagle, the national shield, arrows of war, and the olive branch of peace in the design element.
These 2020 1 oz Silver American Eagles come with Mint State 69 certifications from the PCGS. Coins in MS69 condition have full, original mint luster and a maximum of two minor detracting flaws. Acceptable flaws at this grade level include minuscule contact marks or hairlines that must be located outside the primary focal points.
First Strike labels indicate coins that were received by the PCGS for grading within the first 30 days of the US Mint releasing its 2020 Silver Eagles.
