Silver American Eagle coins have been available from the United States Mint since 1986. The coins are only available in 1 oz silver, with bullion, proof, and burnished versions issued. The only years that featured no coins were the 2009 proof and burnished options, and the 2010 burnished option. The US Mint is legally obligated to produce the Silver Eagle bullion coins to meet demand, and with rising demand for silver during the Great Recession the two collectible coins were halted in the aforementioned years.
2020 1 oz Silver American Eagles in this Monster Box have Walking Liberty on the obverse. This design was created in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman for a US Mint and Treasury Department art contest to replace the designs of the Barber Coinage for the dime, quarter, and half dollar. Weinman’s Walking Liberty was chosen for the half dollar and featured on the coin from 1916 to 1947.
The reverse side of 2020 Silver American Eagles bears the image of the heraldic eagle of the United States. The national emblem, this seal features an American bald eagle with the heraldic shield on its chest, the arrows of war in one talon, and the olive branch of peace in the other.
