The 1 oz Silver Australian Koala coin was the first issued in the series and debuted alone in 2007. From 2008 to 2015, the Perth Mint issued the 1 oz Silver Koala with a 1 Kilo, 10 oz, and 1/2 oz coin alongside as additional options for investors. Additionally, the coins were originally issued with unlimited mintage figures in all weights.

Beginning in 2016, the Perth Mint narrowed the series down to the 1 oz and 1 Kilo coins and established a 300,000-coin mintage cap on the 1 oz coin. In the first two years, the mint experienced a sellout of all coins in 2016 and sold 298,937 of the 300,000 coins available in 2017.

On the obverse of 2020 1 oz Silver Australian Koala Coins is the image of Queen Elizabeth II. This is the sixth-generation design for Australian coins and is the first since 1966 to include the Queen’s shoulders and neckline in the portrait. This design comes from Jody Clark and shows the Queen wearing the Royal Diadem crown in right-profile relief.

The reverse of 2020 Silver Australian Koala Coins includes the image of a koala climbing up a tree branch. This year’s design comes from Ing Ing Jong, the same artist who has created the silver and gold designs in the mint’s Lunar Series collections since 2013.

2020 1 oz Silver Australian Koala coins are available to you in this listing in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The coins are available inside individual acrylic capsules, sealed rolls of 20 coins, or boxes of 100 coins that contain five individual rolls of 20 coins.
