Chronos was a figure from Greek antiquity considered the personification of time. There was often confusion between Chronos and the figure Cronus, a Titan who was the father of Zeus. It is believed that the modern concept of a figure named Father Time is based on the confusion between the figure Chronos, a literary figure, and the mythological Titan Cronus who was the father of the gods.
All of the 2020 1 oz Silver Tokelau Chronos Coins in this product listing come with individual protective plastic capsules for shipping and storage. The silver bullion coins in this collection are available in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
On the obverse face of the 2020 Silver Tokelau Chronos Coins, you will find a bust of Queen Elizabeth II. This portrait of Her Majesty is one of the most popular in British and Commonwealth coining history. Designed in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley, the image is the fourth to have featured on British coins and the fifth for most Commonwealth nations. The image captures the Queen wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara, a tiara gifted to her grandmother Mary of Teck upon her marriage to King George V. Below the portrait is a feather in the shape of the infinity symbol with a textured background field.
The reverse side of 2020 1 oz Silver Tokelau Chronos Coins bears an image of a clock. This ornate example of a clock has its hands set to five minutes to 12. The very center of the design field has an intricate replication of the hour marks with the detailed second hand identifying the specific time. The same textured background is found on this side with the face value marked.
