Today, 2020 1 oz Silver Ukrainian Archangel Michael Coins are available to you online at Silver.com.

  • A new version of the Ukrainian coat of arms is on the obverse.
  • Michael is shown on the reverse of the coin after defeating the dragon.

The Ukrainian Archangel Michael Coin was first released in 2011 with silver and gold bullion options. The collection has always featured a 1 oz silver coin, with the program debuting only 1 oz and 1/4 oz gold coins in 2011. Currently, the series has 1/2 oz and 1/10 oz gold coins available in the series as well. The mintage figures are capped most years in the collection, with the highest mintage noted at 40,000 coins in 2018. The most recent release in 2019 had a mintage of 25,000 silver coins.

All of the 2020 1 oz Silver Ukrainian Archangel Michael Coins are available to you in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Coins in this series are housed inside of protective plastic capsules, mint tubes of 20 coins, or boxes of 200 coins. The box has a total of 10 tubes of 20 coins.

For the 2020 Silver Ukrainian Archangel Michael Coins, you will find a new version of the national coat of arms. This year’s design features a simpler octagon at the center with the inscriptions of the issuing bank and the date mark now featured inside the octagon rather than around the edge of the design field. The older coat of arms is replaced with the modern seal, a trident on a shield, at the top of the design field. The Ukrainian national shield is featured within the octagonal field.

The archangel Michael is shown on the obverse of the 2020 1 oz Silver Ukrainian Archangel Michael Coin. This depiction of Michael has been consistent on the series and focuses on his image as a warrior. This stems from the New Testament’s Book of Revelation story in which Michael dons his armor and sword to lead God’s armies against Satan when the leader of evil attempts to overthrow God in heaven.
