The Allegories Series seeks to juxtapose the female personification of Germany, Germania, alongside other historical allegories for other nations. In the first release in 2019, Britannia showcases hesitance in embracing Germania as the British personification stands with her back to Germania as the latter reaches out a hand of friendship. The second release of Germania and Columbia shows the deep, ancestral ties between the United States and Germany with Germania and Columbia walking hand-in-hand. Now, the third release focuses on the modern friendship between Germany and Italy with the two personifications standing facing one another.
All of the 2020 10 oz Silver Germania The Allegories Italia & Germania Rounds are available to you inside individual acrylic capsules and come with a Certificate of Authenticity. The silver rounds from the Germania Mint are among the rarest in the world when it comes to purity as each one has .9999 fine silver content, a fact that is not common among silver rounds.
Italia is shown standing alongside Germania on the obverse side of the 2020 10 oz Silver Germania The Allegories Italia & Germania Round. The figure of Italia leans against a marble pedestal that has the Horn of Plenty, a symbol of wealth and prosperity, on top of it. If you look closely, you will notice the bicephalous eagle. The double-headed eagle is common in European heraldry, with the Roman Empire using the symbol, the Roman god Janus associated with the symbol, and even the German Empire using the symbol. Germania stands nearby reaching out her right hand in a symbol of friendship to Italia.
Germania Mint’s coat of arms is found on the reverse of all 2020 10 oz Silver Germania The Allegories Italia & Germania Rounds. The image combines several symbols of heraldry in its overall design, such as the crowned shield symbolizing authority, nobility, and chivalry.
