Silver Chinese Panda coins are a favorite of investors and collectors alike. The bullion coin series offers government-backed metal content and purity, and more impressively, the coins feature a new image of the Giant Panda each year. The 2020 design comes from Chinese native Song Lina and is available on both the gold and silver bullion coins in the series. Now, 2020 30 Gram Silver Chinese Pandas are available to you for purchase online at Silver.com.

Coin Highlights:

  • Coin ships to you inside of a protective plastic capsule, a mint tray of 15 coins, or a box of 450 coins!
  • 35th release year for the Silver Chinese Pandas!
  • Consists of 30 Grams, or .9645 Troy ounces, of .999 fine silver in BU condition.
  • Issued a face value of 10 (Yuan) by the People’s Republic of China.
  • The obverse shows the new Giant Panda design with a young cub eating bamboo leaves.
  • On the reverse is a depiction of the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests.

The Giant Panda species is a unique species of bear native to the central highlands of China. Despite its massive size, the Giant Panda actually subsists on a diet that largely relies on bamboo leaves and little meat. It is estimated the average Giant Panda gets 99% of its dietary sustenance from bamboo.

Each year since the Silver Chinese Panda debuted, the Chinese Mint has released the gold and silver bullion coins in the Chinese Panda collection with fresh designs. The gold and silver coins share the same panda design each year, and only once has the Chinese Mint repeated a design. The 2001 design was reused in 2002, but the decision was so unpopular with numismatists that the mint promptly released a fresh design in 2003 and continued doing so.

The obverse of 2020 30 Gram Silver Chinese Pandas features a Giant Panda cub. The young cub lies on its back in the grass with bamboo leaves on a branch just over its head. While it is reaching up to the branch for more leaves, it already has some leaves in its other paw to dine on. Inscriptions on this side of the coin include the weight, metal content, purity, and face value of the coin.

On the reverse of the 2020 Silver Chinese Panda, the Chinese Mint continues with its traditional design of the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests. This building is located in the Temple of Heaven Complex in Beijing and is the largest structure in the Taoist religious complex.

These 2020 30 Gram Silver Chinese Pandas are available to you with individual capsules, mint trays of 15 coins, or boxes of 450 coins. Each individual coin is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
