The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame was founded in 1959 and opened in 1960. Named for Dr. James Naismith, a Canadian-American physician, the Hall of Fame celebrates the game and maintains written records and other traditions of the game. Dr. Naismith wrote the first rule book on basketball and was the founder, and first coach, of the University of Kansas basketball program.

All of these 2020-P $1 Silver Colorized Basketball HOF Coins come with perfect certifications. Coins in PR70 condition have full, original mint luster and have no detracting flaws of any kind present on the coins. DCAM specimens are coins with deep-cameo-proof visuals. This indicates the coins have strong, frosted designs overlaying deeply-mirrored, clear fields. The First Day of Issue notation in the label means the coins were received for grading within 24 hours of release from the US Mint.

On the obverse of 2020-P Colorized Basketball HOF Coins, you will find an image of basketball players. This field of the coin is concave and has a net background element. These two combined features help create the sense of the ball coming through the net toward the players.

The reverse side of the 2020-P $1 Silver Colorized Basketball HOF Coins features a convex field with a basketball going through the hoop and the net. The field is convex, or domed, giving greater 3D relief to the basketball design. This side features colorization on the rim and the net.
