In the new Save the World Edition of the Four Seasons Coin Set, the 2020 Silver American Eagles do not feature the heraldic eagle design on the reverse. Instead, in a bid to call attention to the hazards posed by climate change, the design elements have been altered to show four different ecosystems on planet Earth and the damage possible in the future or already being done to some of these beautiful places.
All of the 2020 Silver American Eagle Save the World Edition Four Seasons Coin Sets come with four individual 2020 Silver Eagles packaged together in a box. Each coin is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and has its own protective slot in the case. The coins are housed together in a beautiful wooden display with an included Certificate of Authenticity from Emporium Hamburg.
On the obverse side of each 2020 Silver American Eagle in the Save the World Edition Four Seasons Set is the depiction of Walking Liberty. Her graceful figure walks from right to left across the coin with the American flag draped over her shoulders, branches of oak and laurel in her left hand, and her right hand reaching out for the sun on the horizon.
Each coin has its own distinct colorization for the background field at Liberty’s feet and her figure. The coins capture the design element in the four seasons of the year. For example, the winter coin has snow on the ground with a pale-yellow sun as Liberty wears a dark green dress and the branches she carries have withered.
The reverse face of 2020 Silver Eagles in this Four Seasons Set focuses on the impacts of climate change around the globe. A pristine beach, African savannah, dense rainforest, and polar region are all depicted in a small snapshot as they should be, with the background depicting the negative impact climate change is actually having on some of these ecosystems.
