The Proof Gold American Eagles were introduced in 1986 by the United States Mint as the bullion version of the coin debuted. However, the first year of issue for the Proof Gold Eagle had only a 1 oz gold coin available. In 1987, the 1/2 oz gold coin joined the series and was followed in 1988 by the 1/4 oz and 1/10 oz gold coins. In this 2020 4-Coin Proof Gold Eagle Set, you can get all four from the 2020 release.

Lady Liberty is featured on the obverse of each 2020 Proof Gold American Eagle in the historic design from Augustus Saint-Gaudens. This artwork was originally created in 1907 and first featured a ring of 46 stars around Liberty. While the US Capitol Building and Liberty’s front-facing image still appear the same today on the Gold Eagle, a ring of 50 stars now surrounds her to reflect the accurate number of states in the Union in the modern era.

American bald eagles are shown in the reverse design of 2020 Proof Gold American Eagles. Designed by Miley Busiek in 1986, this depiction includes a large family nest with a female eagle guarding over a hatchling. Above the nest, a male eagle flies overhead with its wings stretched out around the nest.

Each of the individual coins in this listing has a “W” mint mark from the West Point Mint. You will find this mint mark on the obverse of the coin within the rays of sunshine that emanate around the figure of Liberty.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. When do I lock in my price?
