One of the smallest weights in the Proof Gold Mexican Libertad Series is the 1/10 oz gold coin. The gold bullion coins of the Mexican Libertad Series come in 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/10 oz, and 1/20 oz gold weights. Within the proof series, mintages are some of the lowest in the world for a bullion collection. Gold Libertad coins were first introduced by the Mexican Mint in 1981. The series offered the images of the Gold Centenario on modern gold bullion coins some 60 years after the 1921 release of the Centenario. The original release in 1981 came with BU Gold Libertads with 1 oz, 1/2 oz, and 1/4 oz coins. In 1989, the first Proof Gold Libertad was issued in 1/2 oz gold.

Annual production of Proof Gold Libertads dates to 2004 when a 1/4 oz gold coin was issued. The next year, 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/10 oz, and 1/20 oz gold coins joined the 1/4 oz gold coin in annual production. The only date mark missed since that point in time was the 2012 issue. The mintage of 450 1/10 oz Proof Gold Libertads in 2021 marks one of the lowest mintages in the series. 2020 brought the lowest mintage for the 1/10 oz coin when just 250 coins were struck. Other low-mintage years include 2013 (300 coins), 2014 (350 coins), and 2005 (400 coins).

The obverse of 2021 1/10 oz Proof Gold Libertads comes with an image of Winged Victory. Inspired by the statue at the top of the Mexican Independence Victory Column, this vision shows Victory extending her right hand as she holds a laurel wreath and her left hand is behind her back holding a set of broken chains.

On the reverse side of the 2021 Proof Gold Mexican Libertad is a depiction of the Mexican coat of arms. The design shown here is the modern version of the seal and features a golden eagle on the perch of a prickly pear cactus as it struggles with a serpent. The two are framed by a wreath of oak and laurel, as well as the name of the Mexican nation.

These 2021 1/10 oz Proof Gold Mexican Libertads are available in individual protective capsules with proof visuals. These cameo visuals include frosted designs that contrast with the mirrored field of the coin.
