The gold for sale in the Somalia Elephant Series offers something for all investors. The longest-running option is the 1 oz gold coin, but investors of all wealth and interest levels will find fractional-ounce and even Gram weights available to purchase each year. Adding to the interest in this series is the use of new designs on the reverse field with each date mark. Today, 2021 1/2 oz Gold Somalia Elephants are available to you online at Silver.com.

Coin Highlights:

  • Available to ship to you inside of protective plastic capsules or mint tubes of 20 coins!
  • 18th year of release in the Gold Somalia Elephant Series!
  • Consists of One-Half Troy ounce of .9999 fine gold in BU condition.
  • The face value is 500 Somali Shillings.
  • On the obverse of the coin is the Somali coat of arms.
  • The reverse features a mature elephant moving toward the viewer.

Gold Elephants were originally available from the Bavarian State Mint starting in 1999 with just a 1 oz gold option. The series continued with a 1 oz gold coin, by in large, through 2016 and 2017 when the mint began to expand its collection of coins in the African Wildlife Series. For the Gold Somalia Elephant, this meant the introduction of several fractional-ounce coins and a 1 Gram gold coin.

All of the 2021 1/2 oz Gold Somalia Elephants available here are packaged individually or in multiples. Each single coin you purchase will arrive inside of a protective plastic capsule. If you purchase multiples, the coins will arrive in mint tubes with 20 coins. All of the coins are available in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.

On the obverse side of 2021 1/2 oz Gold Somalia Elephants is a depiction of the Somali coat of arms. The national emblem for the Somali Republic includes a nod to its national flag with a single star set at the center of the crowned shield. The star is on a background field of horizontal lines with leopards supporting the shield from either side. Beneath the shield, there are two spears and two fern leaves crossed with a ribbon draped over the spears.

The reverse face of the 2021 Gold Somalia Elephant features yet another new design. This year’s design features a mature African bush elephant as it moves toward the viewer. All you can see of the elephant is its large head with long tusks and trunk, as well as its flapped-out ears. There is a small bird flying overhead of the elephant with trees visible both in the immediate foreground and distant background.
