Satanic Leaf-Tailed Geckos get their name because their eyes have a fiery appearance with sharp ridges around the edges. To some, this gives these creatures the appearance of a little devil. However, this very rare member of the genus of Uroplatus is quite harmless. In fact, many enjoy keeping them as pets. Right now, 2021 1/2 oz Silver Antique Colorized Niue Wild Africa Series Satanic Leaf-Tailed Gecko Coins are available to purchase online at Silver.com.

On the island of Madagascar there exists an anti-social, arboreal member of the genus of Uroplatus known as the Satanic Leaf-Tailed Gecko. Because these geckos exist largely in the trees, they’ve adapted to their environment by forming a unique, leafy appearance. While their entire back features leaf-like veins, it is the tail of these geckos that truly mimic the appearance of leaves. Adding to the intrigue of this popular but rare species are their fire-like eyes, which some have said resemble the eyes of Satan himself.

On the obverse side of 2021 1/2 oz Silver Colorized Niue Wild Africa Series Satanic Leaf-Tailed Gecko Coins is the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. She is seen wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara in right-side profile. Ian Rank Broadley designed this iconic image in 1998, and it has appeared on numerous coins ever since. Along the edges we see the words Elizabeth II, Niue, 1 Dollar, 2021, and Ag .999.

For the reverse of 2021 1/2 oz Silver Antique Colorized Niue Wild Africa Series Satanic Leaf-Tailed Gecko Coins, we see a vivid close-up of the gecko’s fiery eye. A special UV varnish was used on this colorized depiction, which gives it a uniquely authentic look. Inscribed along the coin’s border are the words I See You, Do You See Me? In addition, the eye features a convex design to make it appear even more life-like.

All 2021 1/2 oz Silver Antique Colorized Niue Satanic Leaf-Tailed Gecko Coins arrive housed in plastic capsules inside a protective cardboard leaflet. The leaflet folds out to reveal background information on these geckos as well as the coin itself.
