Silver Australian bullion coins are popular with investors around the globe and come in five unique design options. The oldest program at the Perth Mint is the Silver Kookaburra, with the Silver Koala the next oldest having been introduced in 2007. From the Kookaburra and Koala to the Wedge Tail Eagle and Emu, most of the Perth Mint’s annual silver bullion coin issues share one thing in common: fresh reverse designs each year. Today, 2021 1 Kilo Silver Australian Koalas are available to you online at Silver.com.

The silver coins for sale in the Australian Koala collection are currently limited to the 1 oz silver and 1 Kilogram silver options as of 2016. When the Perth Mint introduced the coins in 2007, only the 1 oz silver coin was offered. 2008 quickly brought with it an expansion of the series to feature four unique options for investors that included 1/2 oz, 10 oz, and 1 Kilogram silver in addition to the original 1 oz silver coin. This continued through the 2015 release, with the 2016 issue introducing the new standards of only 1 oz and 1 Kilogram silver.

All of the 2021 1 Kilo Silver Australian Koalas available to you in this product listing are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and come with a protective acrylic capsule. The Perth Mint uses an unlimited mintage approach to the 1 Kilogram weight. As such, the coins are continuously struck to meet demand through the end of 2021 when the new 2022 design is ready for production.

On the obverse side of 2021 Silver Australian Koalas is an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. In this design, Her Majesty is shown in right-profile relief wearing the George IV State Diadem Crown. This bust of the Queen was designed in 2015 by Jody Clark and first featured on 2016-dated coins from the Royal Mint of England. As of 2019, it has also widely featured on Australian coins.

The reverse face of 2021 1 Kilo Silver Australian Koalas includes a new design with the koala featured napping in a tree. Living on a diet that consists largely of eucalyptus leaves, the koala is believed to sleep for as many as 18 to 20 hours per day, and in this new design from Monique Reeves, you will find the koala doing just that.
