The United States Mint has issued the Silver Eagle since 1986. From the moment it was introduced, the reverse of the coin depicted the heraldic eagle of the United States. This design is as old as the United States Mint itself. The first version was created in 1794 by Robert Scot and the Silver Eagle debuted with a modern version created by John Mercanti.

For the 35th anniversary in 2021, the US Mint transitioned the series at midyear to a new reverse design. Going forward, this new design from Emily Damstra will be the flagship for the series with its reverse image of a bald eagle in flight. Ms. Damstra created the design in 2020 and hers was chosen from a field of more than 30 other designs.

The obverse side of 2021 1 oz Colorized Silver American Eagle Type 2 Coins features Walking Liberty. This iconic design debuted on American coins in 1916 and was created by Adolph A. Weinman. It shows Liberty in left-profile relief walking toward the sun on the horizon with the American flag draped around her figure.

On the reverse of 2021 Colorized Silver American Eagle Type 2 Coins, you will find the new depiction of a bald eagle in flight. The bald eagle is shown with its wings flexed behind its figure and an oak branch in its talons. The background has a colorized American flag, while the bird is captured with its natural colorization.

These 2021 1 oz Colorized Silver American Eagle Type 2 Coins are available with individual acrylic capsules. Each coin is available in Brilliant Uncirculated condition with colorization present only on the reverse.
