The Silver Elephants of the African Wildlife Series are produced by the Bavarian State Mint in Germany, a state-owned mint located in the Free State of Bavaria, and headquartered in Munich. The mint introduced the African Wildlife Series in 1999 as the Silver Zambia Elephant, but after five years transitioned the series to Somalia. Since that time, the diversity of the collection has only continued to grow.

The coins are housed individually inside of commemorative snowglobes with the reverse field easily visible. On the obverse side of 2021 Colorized Silver Somalia Christmas Elephants, you will find the national coat of arms. The Somali seal includes a crowned shield that has a background field of horizontal lines. At the center of the shield is a single star, similar to the national flag, with leopards supporting the shield from either side and crossed spears and fern leaves below.

The reverse field of the 2021 1 oz Colorized Silver Christmas Elephant features the new 2021 African bush elephant design. Here, the mature bush elephant is depicted walking into the foreground of the design field with its tusks pointing forward and its trunk extending down into the design field rim.

It is on this side of the coin that you will find the brilliant colorization added to this themed release. The elephant is wearing a Santa hat with a candy cane wrapped on its trunk. The tree in the background is a vibrant brown and green, with snowflakes falling down through the night sky onto a snow-covered savanna as Santa flies in front of the moon in the sky above.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash.
