The silver, gold, and platinum coins of the Lunar Series III collection from the Perth Mint have images created by Ing Ing Jong. Ms. Jong joined the Perth Mint as an artist and coin designer in 2011. Her first work in lunar collections began in 2013 with the Year of the Snake in the Lunar Series III collection.

She has designed both the silver coin imagery in the Lunar Series III Year of the Ox issue and the shared gold and platinum design as well. Her silver coin image features an adult ox beneath a cherry blossom tree branch with a young calf nearby. The gold design, also shared on the platinum coins, depicts a bull ox near bamboo stalks.

The obverse field of 2021 1 oz Platinum Australian Lunar Ox Coins includes a depiction of Queen Elizabeth II in right-profile relief. The Queen’s bust was designed in 2015 by Jody Clark and debuted on Australian coins in 2018. The Lunar Series III collection was the first lunar release of the new image that shows the Queen at the age of 89.

On the reverse face of 2021 Platinum Australian Lunar Ox Coins is an image of an adult ox. This bull ox is shown with its powerful frame flexed as its head is lifted and its horns are poised to strike. The front right leg of the ox is slightly lifted as it stands amidst bamboo stalks.

These 2021 1 oz Platinum Australian Lunar Ox Coins are available to purchase individually inside of acrylic protective capsules. Each coin comes in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and boasts a limited mintage figure of just 5,000 coins for the design release.
