The Itchy & Scratchy Show can be considered a show within a show within a show. Avid viewers of The Simpsons are familiar with the favorite comedy hour of the children of Springfield, the Krusty the Clown Show. Within Krusty’s show, there were regular 15-to-60 second animated shorts featuring Itchy & Scratchy.

Known as the Itchy & Scratchy Show, the violence inherent in the show was captured perfectly in the theme song for the show as it started with “they fight, and fight, and fight and fight and fight.” The series was designed as a riff on real-life animated series such as Tom and Jerry, with a much more violent twist. Each episode of The Itchy & Scratchy Show often ended with the death and dismemberment of one character or the other. Often it was Scratchy, the cat.

The obverse side of 2021 1 oz Proof Colorized Silver Tuvalu Itchy & Scratchy Coins comes with a depiction of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is shown here in right-profile relief wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. This popular portrait was created in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley for the Royal Mint of England.

On the reverse face of the 2021 Proof Colorized Itchy & Scratchy Coin is the show logo for The Itchy & Scratchy Coin. The show logo features the head of the blue mouse, Itchy, and the head of the black cat, Scratchy. The name of the show is featured in red letters.
