For the first time in the history of the series, the Silver American Eagles are getting a redesign. By mid-2021, a new reverse image of the bald eagle will be available on the reverse of the Silver Eagle. However, production of the new design was not ready for the start of 2021 coining, and as a result, the US Mint will release two versions of the 2021 Silver Eagle: one with the old design combinations and one with the new design combinations. Now, 2021 1 oz Silver American Eagles are available to you for purchase online at Silver.com in perfect condition.

The Silver American Eagle will have a new design on the reverse side by mid-2021. The Walking Liberty vision on the obverse of the coin will remain the same going forward, but the heraldic eagle design from John Mercanti is set to be replaced by a new vision of the American bald eagle.
Created by famed coin design Emily Damstra, the new image shows the American bald eagle in flight with a large oak branch in its talons. The design was planned for release right away on 2021 date marks, but as the COVID-19 pandemic raged in 2020, the US Mint was forced to cope with both increased demand for silver throughout the year and reduced staffing in order to keep its workforce safe. As a result, it will be mid-2021 before the new reverse is ready.
The obverse of 2021 1 oz Silver American Eagles comes with the historic Walking Liberty design. Created by Adolph A. Weinman in 1916, this image of Walking Liberty shows her figure walking with her right hand outstretched toward the sun on the horizon and branches of oak and laurel in her left hand. The sun is cresting a mountain on the horizon as the American flag blows in the wind over Liberty’s shoulder.
On the reverse side of the 2021 Silver American Eagle is the final heraldic eagle design. Created by John Mercanti, the heraldic eagle image features a bald eagle in front-facing relief with the US national shield on its chest. A triangular cluster of 13 stars overhead represents the original colonies, while the olive branch and arrows in its talons represent a desire for peace, but preparedness for war.
2021 1 oz Silver American Eagles listed here are in perfect condition. Mint State 70 coins showcase full, original mint luster with no detracting flaws. These coins have also been issued an Early Release designation, indicating each was received by the NGC from the US Mint within 30 days of the release date.
