The 2021 release of Silver Eagles from the United States Mint is sure to be the most memorable since the program’s debut release in 1986. Not only is 2021 the 35th anniversary for the series, but it is also the first time one of the designs will be changed in the history of the program. The 2021 coins feature two separate releases: early coins with the original design and later ones with the new reverse. Today, 2021 1 oz Silver American Eagles are available to you online at Silver.com in near-perfect condition.

The 2021 release of the coins requires two distinct waves of production because of the change in design. The US Mint was unable to complete the design selection and die creation processes quickly enough in 2020 to have the new image ready for production of 2021-dated coins. As such, the first batches of the Silver Eagle issued through mid-year will have the original John Mercanti design on the reverse. After mid-year, the new design of the bald eagle from Emily Damstra will appear on batches of the coins released and the Mercanti design will be retired.
All of the 2021 1 oz Silver Eagles in this listing come in near-perfect condition. Coins with a Mint State 69 certification have full, original mint luster and a maximum of two minor detracting flaws. Examples of acceptable flaws include only minuscule contact marks or hairlines. Those flaws can only be present outside the primary focal points of the coin.
On the obverse of 2021 Silver American Eagles is an image known as Walking Liberty. The image of Walking Liberty was created by Adolph A. Weinman in 1916. The design shows Lady Liberty walking toward the horizon with her right hand reaching out toward the sun as her left hand carries branches of oak and laurel.
The reverse field of the 2021 1 oz Silver Eagle includes the heraldic eagle image for the final time in the series. The design includes an American bald eagle in front-facing relief with the US national shield. The eagle holds the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace in its talons. The cluster of 13 stars above its head represents the original American colonies.
