The Silver American Eagle entered a new era in 2021 with the midyear release of its first-ever redesigned coins. From 1986 to mid-2021, the images of Walking Liberty and the heraldic eagle were staples for this series. After striking the original designs through June 2021, the US Mint paused coining for several days before resuming with 2021-dated coins struck featuring the new reverse design. After spending nearly six months striking 2021-dated coins with the original design combinations, known as Type 1s, the US Mint paused for several days to install new dies in its coining presses. When coining resumed in July 2021, the mint was issuing 2021-dated coins with the new bald eagle design from Emily Damstra.

A member of the US Mint Artistic Infusion Program, Ms. Damstra has worked with extensively with both the United States Mint and the Royal Canadian Mint. Previous credits with RCM include coin designs in the Canadian Wildlife and Birds of Prey Series, as well as two previous designs for the US Mint’s America the Beautiful Series. Her new bald eagle design for the Silver Eagle helps take the collection into a new era.

The obverse of 2021 Silver American Eagle Type 2 Coins features the image of Walking Liberty. Designed in 1916, it depicts Liberty in left-profile relief walking toward the sun on the horizon as she extends her right hand and carries branches of oak and laurel in her left hand. The American flag is draped around her figure in this design.

On the reverse of 2021 1 oz Silver Eagle Type 2 Coins, you will find Emily Damstra’s all-new vision of the bald eagle. This design shows the bird as though it is adding to its nest. The massive aerial predator swoops down into view clutching a large oak branch in its talons.

These 2021 1 oz Silver American Eagle Type 2s are in perfect condition with a Mint State 70 grade. Coins in this condition showcase full, original mint luster and have no flaws. The label notes these are all First Day of Production coins, meaning each one in this listing was struck at the US Mint in July 2021 as it struck the first batches of the new Type 2 coins.

All Orders are fully insured by Silver.com from the time of carrier pickup to the time of finaly delivery, defined as a signature or delivery confirmation from the carrier. Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment.
