Ms. Damstra has been a life-long resident of the Great Lakes Region in North America. Her love of the great outdoors has influenced a number of designs she’s created for both the United States Mint and the Royal Canadian Mint. Her contributions include the final two designs of the Canadian Wildlife Series, all four designs in the Canadian Birds of Prey Series, and two reverse designs for the America the Beautiful Series at the United States Mint.
The obverse side of 2021 Silver American Eagles in the Type 2 Monster Box features the Walking Liberty design. Created by Adolph A. Weinman, this effigy shows Liberty in left-profile relief with the American flag draped around her figure and branches of oak and laurel in her left hand. Weinman’s Walking Liberty design has been enhanced for the Type 2 release and now includes his artist’s signature mark with his “AW” initials beneath the inscription of “In God We Trust.”
On the reverse field of the 2021 Silver Eagle Type 2 Monster Box is an all-new depiction of the American bald eagle. The new design shows a bald eagle in flight with its wings swooping back behind its frame as its talons clutch an oak branch.
The new 2021 Silver Eagle Type 2 Coin release marks the second issue of 2021 in the Silver Eagle Series. It is referred to as Type 2 to differentiate between the 2021 Silver Eagle Type 1 coins that were released to start the 2021 schedule with the original designs of Walking Liberty and the Heraldic Eagle.
