Silver Canadian Maple Leafs are like many other silver bullion collections in many ways. Like the Silver Eagle or Silver Britannia, the images on the obverse and reverse of the coins are static each year. Queen Elizabeth II always features on the obverse, with the sugar maple leaf on the reverse. The only changes that ever occur in design happen when the Queen’s portrait is updated.
All of the 2021 1 oz Silver Canadian Maple Leafs in this product listing come with protective packaging for both individual specimens and bulk orders. Individual coins will ship inside of protective plastic flips. Multiples are available in either mint tubes of 25 coins or Monster Boxes of 500 coins. The Monster Box contains 20 tubes of 25 coins each. All of the coins are available in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
Queen Elizabeth II is depicted on the obverse side of 2021 1 oz Silver Canadian Maple Leafs. This bust of the Queen is a right-profile relief with the Queen wearing no crown, a first during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. The design featured here was created in 2003 by Susanna Blunt.
A sugar maple leaf is shown on the reverse face of 2021 Silver Canadian Maple Leafs. The design found on this side of the coin is based on the maple leaf image created in 1979 by Walter Ott for the debut of the Gold Maple Leafs.
Security features are included in the design elements on both sides of the coin. As of 2014, the series has radial lines in the background field on both the obverse and reverse, with a new micro-engraved laser maple leaf privy mark on the reverse. Within the maple leaf privy mark is the “21” date that is only visible under magnification.
