The largest living mammal in the world today is the African bush elephant. As such, this massive species is the largest on the African continent and the first to feature in the Big Five Series from the South African Mint. To celebrate the success of the first series, the South African Mint is back with a second version of the series. Today, 2021 1 oz Silver South African Big Five Series II Elephant Coins are available to you online at Silver.com.

The South African Mint introduced the Big Five Series in 2019. The collection focuses on the five largest and most prominent native animal species from the continent. These animals represent everything from the largest species on the continent to the most powerful or even most endangered. The designs in the original Big Five Series included the African elephant, Lion, Rhino, Leopard, and Buffalo. All of these creatures are back now in the Big Five Series II release.

All of these 2021 1 oz Silver South African Big Five Series II Elephant Coins are available with presentation packaging from the mint. The coins are individually housed in themed cards with detailed information on the release and the African bush elephant. Each coin comes in Brilliant Uncirculated condition from the South African Mint.

On the obverse of 2021 Silver Big Five Series II Elephant Coins is a depiction of the African elephant. Here, you will see the front-facing view of the bush elephant with its large tusks pointed toward you with its trunk drooping down. While the original series used a slight left-profile image of the elephant, the Big Five Series II issue comes with a slight right-profile view of the elephant.

The reverse field of 2021 1 oz Silver South African Elephant Coins comes with the same design used in the original series. This visual shows the heads of two elephants very close together in a focused design.
