There’s nothing quite like the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States. Historically, Western cultures have celebrated a period of thanksgiving in the autumn to mark the end of the growing season and a successful harvest. These humble festivals included large meals to feed the village or broader community as a means of observing God’s blessing of a bounty to survive the lean winter months. In the modern era, Thanksgiving is a smorgasbord of various foods that often leaves one reaching for stretchy pants. Today, 2021 1 oz Silver Thanksgiving Rounds are available to you online at Silver.com.

Round Highlights:

  • Available to ship to you inside protective flips, plastic tubes of 20, or boxes of 500 rounds!
  • Brand-new Thanksgiving seasonal issue!
  • Features a design honoring the harvest season!
  • Consists of One Troy ounce of .999 fine silver.
  • The obverse depicts fruits and vegetables harvested in the fall.
  • On the reverse is a blank central field with an ornate border and identifying hallmarks.

Thanksgiving was first observed in the United States by the Pilgrims who settled the Plymouth Colony in what is now the state of Massachusetts. The Pilgrims arrived in 1620, but found it difficult to work the land in unfamiliar territory. Were it not for the local Wampanoag people, the Pilgrims would not have survived the winter of 1620-1621. However, with the know-how of the Wampanoag, the Pilgrims learned what to plant and when in order to enjoy a bountiful harvest in the New World. Come the fall of 1621, the Pilgrims were able to observe their traditional harvest festival and give thanks for a bountiful crop. This resulted in the Pilgrims and Wampanoag people sharing a meal together for the first time in the fall of 1621.

All of these 2021 1 oz Silver Thanksgiving Rounds are available to you individually or in bulk. Individual rounds ship with protective flips. Multiples of 20 come in plastic tubes, while multiples of 500 come in a box. The box typically holds 25 tubes of 20 rounds each.

The obverse of 2021 Silver Thanksgiving Rounds comes with a design of fruits and vegetables. Honoring a successful harvest, you can see a large basket of apples, two large pumpkins in the background, and two ears of corn in the foreground next to the basket.

On the reverse side of 2021 1 oz Silver Thanksgiving Rounds, you will find a blank central field. Though this central piece is blank, the field does have an ornate border and identifying hallmarks that include inscriptions of the weight, purity, metal content, and date for the round, as well as the SilverTowne mint mark.
