The Pressburg Mint of Bratislava is one of the leading issuers of Tokelau silver coins. The mint offers silver bullion coins on behalf of Tokelau across at least four different collections, some of which actually started out as silver round collections that were then transitioned into legal-tender bullion series. Right now, 2021 1 oz Silver Tokelau Terra Coins are available to purchase online at Silver.com.

Coin Highlights:

  • Ships to you in an individual plastic flip!
  • Second year of release for the Silver Tokelau Terra Coins!
  • Mintage limited to 30,000 coins only!
  • Consists of One Troy ounce of .999 fine silver in BU condition.
  • Bears a face value of $5 (NZD) backed by the government of Tokelau.
  • On the obverse side is Queen Elizabeth II.
  • The reverse features the Atlantic Ocean and its surrounding continents.

Each of the 2021 1 oz Silver Tokelau Terra Coins available to you in this product listing come with an individual plastic flip. All of the coins are available from the mint in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The 2021 release of the BU Silver Terra coins comes with an increased mintage of 30,000 coins, compared to 20,000 coins for the debut issue in 2020.

The Silver Tokelau Terra coins come with Brilliant Uncirculated and Proof-like options, offering something for investors and collectors in the series. While the mintage of the BU coins is up in 2021 by 10,000 coins, the proof-like option has a decreased mintage this year, down to 7,500 coins from 10,000 coins in 2020.

On the obverse side of 2021 1 oz Silver Tokelau Terra Coins is a bust of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is featured here in the right-profile portrait created in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley. This effigy shows the Queen with the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara on her head. This year’s obverse design includes a ring around the portrait of the Queen, a GPS dot in the South Pacific noting the location of Tokelau, and a new flower design in the lower-left field. All of these are new minor elements for 2021 that differ from the previous release.

The reverse field of the 2021 Silver Tokelau Terra Coin features the Atlantic Ocean. The focus on the Atlantic includes depictions of North America, South America, Africa, Europe, and Greenland. The new designs on this side for 2021 include a new compass star at the bottom and a new inscription of “+1.07/1.93” denoting the increase in average global temperature in the 21st century compared to the 20th century. The background field on both sides now features diagonal lines creating triangular intersections, rather than the previous latitude and longitude lines.
