In Korean culture, the tiger is seen as a sacred creature to be treated with reverence and respect. Some see the tiger as a guardian deity, while others as a symbol of ancient wisdom. If you peruse Korean art, you will find numerous beautiful statues and Minhwa folk paintings that depict this legendary beast. It was even used as the mascot when Seoul hosted the Summer Olympics in 1988. Now, 2021 10 oz Antique Silver South Korean Tiger Medals are available to you for purchase online at Silver.com.

Korea is called the Land of Tigers for a reason. Siberian tigers, also known as the world’s largest cats, once frequented the mountains of the peninsula. While they are no longer physically present in the region (the subspecies is considered endangered), they have left a powerful mark on Korean culture. Many of the country’s founding myths involve tigers, with storytellers often beginning their yarns with the words when tigers used to smoke instead of once upon a time. You’ll find tigers referenced elsewhere, too, such as in the Yin-Yang philosophy, where they are seen as a representation of Yin.

A tiger cub is depicted on the obverse of 2021 Silver South Korean Tiger Medals. The cub is shown lying on the ground with its back to a wall of bamboo. In the background is a Korean religious building. Of note here is the fact that in Korea, tiger statues can be found outside many temples of worship. There are inscriptions on the obverse that read Korean Tiger, 2021, 10 oz, Gangneung (which is a popular municipal city along the coast of South Korea).

The Korean peninsula is depicted on the reverse side of 2021 10 oz Antique Silver Tiger Medals. It is beautifully designed using Hangul script, also known as the Korean alphabet. Additional imagery includes the Taegeuk and a latent security device that changes when you shift the angle back and forth. Inscriptions on the edge read Republic of Korea, Fine Silver, .999.

Where does your spot price come from?

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
