Each 2021 10 oz Silver Australian Kookaburra available to you through this Silver.com listing comes in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The Perth Mint offers the coins packaged individually inside of protective acrylic capsules. The unlimited mintage indicates that the Perth Mint will continue to strike the coins to meet demand only until the release of the next Silver Kookaburra in late 2021.

With its unlimited mintage in place since 1992 when the 10 oz Silver Kookaburra debuted, the coin has seen dramatic swings in demand over the course of nearly 30 years of availability. Since 2014, demand for the 10 oz silver version of the Australian Kookaburra has fallen in each year. In 2014, 28,547 of the 10 oz Silver Kookaburras were sold. The 2020 release of the coin had a mintage of just 6,160 10 oz Silver Kookaburras.

The obverse side of the 2021 10 oz Silver Australian Kookaburras depicts Queen Elizabeth II in right-profile relief. The design is the sixth-generation effigy of the Queen to feature on Australian coins. It was designed in July 2015 by Jody Clark for the Royal Mint of England and adapted for use on Australian coins in 2019.

On the reverse face of 2021 Silver Australian Kookaburras is an image of the kookaburra. The kookaburra is the largest member of the kingfisher species and is a terrestrial subspecies of the family. In this design from Aleysha Howarth, the kookaburra is perched on the branch of a gum tree as it looks to the left. There are seedpods featured in the design element beneath the branches. Additionally, this side of the coin comes with a microscopic security element. The single letter used here is found within the inscription “Australian Kookaburra” and is visible only under magnification.
