Chinese dragons are widely associated with a variety of factors in Chinese culture. One of the most common associations of the dragon comes from Chinese religion. The dragon is believed to be the ruler of weather and water. In fact, dragons were said to have been the source of the four major rivers in China.

This legend dictates that as the people of China prayed to the Jade Emperor for rain, those prayers fell on deaf ears. It is said that the dragons took it upon themselves to scoop up water from the ocean in their mouths to drop from the sky. This water provided the people with the water crops needed to grow. As punishment for this, the Jade Emperor trapped the dragons to the Earth with mountains, forming the four rivers of China.

The obverse of 2021 2 oz Proof Chinese Myths & Legends Dragon Coins features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. This effigy of the monarch is a left-profile bust that shows the Queen wearing the George IV State Diadem Crown.

On the reverse side of 2021 2 oz Proof Australian Chinese Myths & Legends Dragons is an image of the Chinese dragon. The serpent-like beast is shown with a flaming pearl in its claws and is set against a background motif of stylized clouds.

These 2021 2 oz Proof Silver Australian Chinese Myths & Legends Dragons are housed in clear displays. The black display box has a clear lid and comes inside of a themed shipping box. A numbered Certificate of Authenticity is included with purchase. The high-relief strike delivers higher relief for the design element and greater depth for the background field.
