Each of the female personifications the Germania Mint has combined in The Allegories Series has had a deep backstory between the two cultures represented. In the Austria & Germania release, the fourth of the collection, Germania is paired with an allegory representing a people with arguably the closest ties to Germany.
All of the 2021 2 oz Silver Germania The Allegories Austria & Germania Rounds are available to you for purchase new from the mint with individual acrylic capsules. Although the 2 oz round has the second-highest mintage in the series, its mintage of 2,500 rounds is just one-tenth that of the 1 oz silver round, the highest-minted option in the series.
On the obverse of 2 oz Silver The Allegories Austria & Germania Rounds is a portrait of the two allegories together. Austria, better known as Lady Austria, represents the people of Austria. She wears a laurel wreath on her head and clutches a spear in her right hand. Germania is featured on the right side of the design field with an oak wreath on her head and her left hand resting on the imperial sword of Germany. The two figures lock hands at the center of the design element.
The reverse side of 2021 Silver Germania The Allegories Austria & Germania Rounds features a depiction of the Germania Mint logo. The mint’s seal reflects a heraldic coat of arms with a quartered shield, an imperial crown, and an oak wreath all included in the design element.
