Silver Chinese Pandas are part of the world’s only major silver bullion series with coins marked in Metric sizes. After decades of issuing the coins with Troy ounce weights, the Chinese Mint shifted gears in 2016 to feature Metric weights in both its Silver Panda and Gold Panda collections. That tradition continues into the 2020s as the series continues to delight investors and collectors. Now, 2021 30 Gram Colorized Silver Chinese Pandas are available to you for purchase online.

From 1989 to 2015, the Chinese Mint issued the Silver Chinese Panda coins with Brilliant Uncirculated and Proof specimens using 1 Troy ounce of .999 fine silver content. In 2016, the Chinese Mint switched to Metric weights and rebranded the 1 oz Silver Panda as the 30 Gram Silver Panda.
The switch was made by the Chinese Mint to bring the national silver bullion series in line with the nation’s use of the Metric system. The adjustment applied not only to the Silver Panda coin, but also its Gold Panda counterparts.
The obverse side of 2021 30 Gram Colorized Silver Chinese Pandas comes with a depiction of a Giant Panda cub and its mother. The young panda is shown climbing up the trunk of a tree as the mother panda extends a paw beneath its hindquarters to offer support to her young cub. The colorization applied to this side of the coin captures the natural splendor of the Giant Panda’s native environment, while the bears themselves are shown with black-and-white fur, just as seen in real life.
On the reverse field of 2021 30 Gram Colorized Silver Pandas is an image of the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests. The central building in the Temple of Heaven Complex, the hall is a Taoist religious site that was built by the Ming Dynasty during the first two decades of the 15th century.
