In 2021, the United States Mint celebrates another major milestone for its American Eagle bullion coin series. The gold and silver coins for sale in this series are among the pioneering collections of sovereign bullion coinage in the world. The gold coins were the fourth modern gold bullion coins issued behind the Krugerrand, Maple Leaf, and Panda, while the Silver Eagle was the first major silver bullion coin from a major, industrialized nation. Now, near-perfect 2021 (P) 1 oz Silver American Eagles are available to you for purchase online at Silver.com.

The 2021 Silver Eagle continues to experience the same demand that gripped the 2020 coin following the onset of the COVID-19 global pandemic. The pandemic drove investors around the world into safe-haven options, sending demand for the Silver American Eagle through the roof. At the same time, the US Mint was coping with limited staffing amidst the pandemic while trying to meet this demand.
As a result, the Philadelphia Mint struck BU Silver Eagles for the first time in 20 years as part of an emergency coining initiative to support the West Point Mint in meeting demand for the coins. In 2021, that emergency coining continued, with the Philadelphia Mint again issuing batches of BU Silver Eagles.
Walking Liberty features on the obverse of all 2021 (P) Silver American Eagles. This design from Adolph A. Weinman shows Liberty in left-profile relief walking toward the sun on the horizon as the American flag is shown draped over her figure and her right hand is shown reaching out for the sun.
For the reverse of the 2021 (P) 1 oz Silver Eagle, the US Mint features the heraldic eagle image for the final time in this series. Set to be replaced by mid-2021 on coins of the same date, the heraldic eagle appears with a front-facing bald eagle that supports the US national shield.
These 2021 (P) 1 oz Silver American Eagles come with near-perfect grades. The NGC issues a Mint State 69 grade to coins that showcase full, original mint luster and come with no more than two minor detracting flaws. Examples of these flaws include only minuscule contact marks or hairlines that must be found outside the primary focal points. Early Release coins are those received for grading within the first 30 days following the release by the mint.
