Gold American Eagles from the United States Mint were issued from January to June 2021 with the BU and Proof versions of the coin bearing the Type 1, or Miley Busiek, design from 1986. There was no Type 1 Burnished Gold Eagle issued in 2021. Starting in July 2021, the US Mint issued Type 2 versions of the coin with the new reverse design element. This occurred across all weights in the BU, Proof, and Burnished coins.
All 2021-W 1/10 oz Proof Gold American Eagle Type 2 Coins listed here come in near-perfect conditions. Coins in PF69 condition are near-perfect specimens with full, original mint luster and a maximum of two minor detracting flaws. These flaws are limited to minuscule contact marks or hairlines and must feature outside of the primary focal points of the coin. The included UCAM label means the coins have ultra-cameo-proof visuals. This refers to the presence of strong, frosted designs and deeply-mirrored, clear fields.
On the obverse of 2021-W Proof Gold Eagle Type 2 Coins is an effigy of Liberty. This portrait of Liberty was created in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens and shows her figure with a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. The design element has sun rays in the background, the U.S. Capitol Building at her feet, and a ring of 50 stars around the design.
The reverse field of the 2021-W 1/10 oz Proof Gold Eagles features a left-profile depiction of an American bald eagle. The design shows an American bald eagle head in left-profile relief with intricate details for its physical features and layered plumage.
