The Proof Gold American Eagle Series is the official collectible coin from the nation’s leading gold bullion series. Proof Gold Eagle Coins come in the same four weights the Brilliant Uncirculated version offers, but with a rollout in the 1980s that took three years to complete. Gold American Eagles from the United States Mint debuted in 1986 with 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz coins in the BU Gold Eagle range. That release year also included a 1 oz Proof Gold Eagle. In 1987, the US Mint issued the 1/2 oz Proof Gold Eagle for the first time. The rollout of the proof coins was completed in 1988 with the release of the 1/4 oz Proof Gold Eagle and 1/10 oz Proof Gold Eagle.

Just like the BU Gold Eagle Series, the Proof Gold Eagle Series is dominated by the largest and smallest coins in the lot. The 1 oz and 1/10 oz coins often command the most interest from investors and collectors. From 1988 to 2007, the 1/10 oz Proof Gold Eagle was the top seller each year. From 2008 to present, the 1 oz Proof Gold Eagle has emerged as the best-seller.

The obverse of 2021-W 1/10 oz Proof Gold Eagles comes with Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ depiction of Liberty in front-facing relief. This design was originally used on the $20 Gold Double Eagle Coins from 1907 to 1933.

On the reverse of the 2021-W Proof Gold American Eagles is the image of a family of bald eagles. Designed exclusively for this series in 1986 by Miley Busiek, the depiction of a family of eagles around its nest appears for the final time in the series in 2021.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase.
