The United States Mint refreshed the reverse visuals of the American Eagle coins in its gold and silver collections. The changes apply to the BU, Proof, and Burnished versions of the coins in 2021. However, the BU and Proof specimens started the 2021 production cycle with the original design combinations.

Given this is the final release of the 2021 Proof Gold Eagle with the original Miley Busiek design on the obverse, the mint capped the number of coins it would produce. A total of 12,700 coins were issued, with the mint limiting the number of those coins available in presentation packaging to 4,500 coins within that overall mintage limit.

On the obverse of 2021-W 1 oz Proof Gold American Eagles is the effigy of Lady Liberty. This front-facing image of Liberty graced the obverse of the Gold $20 Double Eagle from 1907 to 1933. Designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, it sends a powerful message about America’s emergence in the 20th century as she walks toward the viewer holding up a torch to light the way and carrying an olive branch of peace in her left hand.

The reverse side of the 2021-W Proof Gold Eagles comes with the original design from 1986. Created by Miley Busiek, it depicts a male eagle soaring over the nest as a female eagle and a hatchling sit perched inside.

These 2021-W 1 oz Proof Gold American Eagles are near-perfect specimens. Coins in PF69 condition have full, original mint luster and a maximum of two minor detractions. Examples of acceptable flaws at this grade include only minuscule contact marks or hairlines. These flaws must be located outside the primary focal points. UCAM designations are for proof coins with strong, frosted designs and deeply-mirrored, clear fields.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?
