The Proof Gold American Eagles have been available from the United States Mint since 1986. In 2021, the series marked its 35th anniversary with the release of two versions of the coin. Before introducing a new reverse, the US Mint struck the original designs on the coins in what has become known the Type 1 coin. With the release of Type 2 coins like these, the new bald eagle design has arrived. Now, certified-perfect 2021-W 1 oz Proof Gold American Eagle Type 2 Coins are available to you for purchase online from Silver.com.

The production of 2021 Proof Gold American Eagles included two release cycles. To start the year, the US Mint issued the BU and Proof versions of the coin in what has become known as the Type 1 version. These coins featured the original reverse design from Miley Busiek.

At the end of June 2021, the US Mint paused production to switch out its dies in the coining presses. Once this was complete, the US Mint started production of the new 2021 Type 2 version of the coin, those coins with the new reverse design element. The all-new design comes from Jennie Norris.

The obverse of 2021-W 1 oz Proof Gold American Eagle Type 2 Coins comes with an image of Liberty. Created in 1907, this visual came from the Gold $20 Double Eagle and was in circulation on that coin in the United States from 1907 to 1933.

On the reverse face of 2021-W Proof Gold Eagle Type 2 Coins is the new design of an American bald eagle. Created by Jennie Norris, the design shows the bald eagle in left-profile relief with a focus on its head.

These 2021-W 1 oz Proof Gold American Eagle Type 2 Coins are available to you in perfect condition. Coins with a PF70 certification showcase full, original mint luster and bear no detracting flaws. The UCAM designation indicates the coins have strong, frosted design elements and deeply-mirrored, clear fields. Coins with an Early Release label are those received for grading within 30 days of issue.
