The 2021 release of Silver Eagles at the US Mint is as monumental as the series gets. Not only is it the 35th anniversary of the collection, but it is also the first time in the history of the series that two versions of each coin will be issued. From the initial issue point until midyear, the original design combinations will feature on 2021-dated coins before a new reverse design takes over on the coins. Right now, 2021-W 1 oz Proof Silver American Eagles are available to purchase online at Silver.com in perfect condition.

Each 2021-W 1 oz Proof Silver American Eagle listed here is a perfect specimen according to the PCGS. Coins with a PR70 grade exhibit full, original mint luster with no detracting flaws present. The DCAM designation stands for deep-cameo and is exclusive to proof coins. It indicates a coin with strong, frosted designs and deeply-mirrored, clear fields. These combined visual elements create the illusion of the design floating above the field.
In addition, these coins have a First Day of Issue label. Specimens with this label are guaranteed by the PCGS to have arrived at an approved depository for grading within 24 hours of the original release date from the US Mint.
With a new design slated to arrive on the reverse of Proof Silver Eagles by mid-2021, this is the final time that collectors can purchase a Proof Silver Eagle with the heraldic eagle design. In use since 1986, this version of the heraldic eagle was created by John Mercanti, the 12th Chief Engraver of the United States Mint who worked for the mint from the 1970s until his retirement in 2010. He served as Chief Engraver from 2006 to 2010.
The obverse side of 2021-W 1 oz Proof Silver American Eagles comes with the Walking Liberty design. This iconic image features the figure of Liberty in left-profile relief as she walks along toward the sun and a mountain in the distance. The American flag is draped around her figure in the design.
On the reverse face of the 2021-W 1 oz Proof Silver Eagles is the heraldic eagle. The heraldic eagle of the United States includes a bald eagle in front-facing relief supporting the US national shield while clutching the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace in its talons. Above its head is a triangular cluster of 13 stars.
