As part of the 35th anniversary of the Silver American Eagles in 2021, the US Mint had previously announced plans to replace the heraldic eagle design on the reverse of the coins. This would mark the first change in the three-plus decade history of the coins. From January to June 2021, the US Mint issued Type 1 coins with John Mercanti’s original reverse, before shifting in July to the new Type 2 design on the reverse from Emily Damstra.

One of the most beautiful demonstrations of this change came in the US Mint’s release of a two-coin set with reverse-proof coins. These coins were struck by separate mints, with one coin featuring the heraldic eagle and the other the new soaring bald eagle. The West Point Mint had the duty of striking the Type 1 coins.

The obverse of 2021-W 1 oz Reverse Proof Silver American Eagles comes with a portrait of Walking Liberty. This design shows the full-length figure of Liberty draped in the American flag as she walks in left-profile relief toward the sun on the horizon.

On the reverse of the 2021-W Reverse Proof Silver Eagle is an image of the heraldic eagle of the United States. Modified for this series in 1986 by John Mercanti, the design shows a bald eagle supporting the US national shield as the eagle clutches the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace.

These 2021-W 1 oz Reverse Proof Silver American Eagles are PR70 coins. Considered perfect specimens, each one has full, original mint luster and no distractions. First Strike coins are those specimens received for grading within 30 days of release. As reverse proofs, these coins boast mirrored design elements above frosted background fields.

Where does your spot price come from?

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
