The 1/10 oz Gold Eagle tends to dominate the series when gold prices go up. The first time this occurred was around Y2K as gold prices moved upward from 1998 into the early 2000s. After setting a series record with 2.75 million coins sold in 1999, the 1/10 oz Gold Eagle went on to have the highest annual mintage between 1999 and 2002, in 2006 and 2007, and more recently from 2014 to 2019.

Like the other coins of the series, the 1/10 oz Gold Eagle has the new reverse design element from Jennie Norris. Introduced in 2021, this image shows the bald eagle in a new pose with a focus on the head of the bird.

The obverse side of 2022 1/10 oz Gold American Eagles features the iconic image of Liberty from Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Created in 1907, the image shows Liberty in front-facing relief with a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. She walks toward the viewer with the U.S. Capitol Building at her feet, sun rays on the horizon, and a ring of 50 stars around the design.

On the reverse field of 2022 Gold Eagles, you will find the new bald eagle design from Jennie Norris. Created in 2020, this design was chosen from more than 30 possible designs to serve as the refreshed bald eagle design on the Gold American Eagle bullion coins.

These 2022 1/10 oz Gold American Eagles are available to purchase in near-perfect condition. Mint State 69 coins showcase full, original mint luster and no more than two minor flaws. Acceptable flaws at this grade level include only minuscule contact marks or hairlines. Early Release specimens are those coins the NGC receives within 30 days of release from the mint for certification.
