Now, 2022 1/10 oz Gold Canadian Maple Leafs are available to you for purchase online at Silver.com.

Coin Highlights:

  • Coins ship to you inside individual plastic flips or sealed sheets of 40 coins!
  • 43rd issue of Gold Maple Leaf bullion coins!
  • One of the first two fractional-ounce Gold Maple Leafs from RCM!
  • Consists of One-Tenth Troy ounce of .9999 fine gold in BU condition.
  • Issued a face value of $5 (CAD) by Canada.
  • The obverse features Queen Elizabeth II.
  • On the reverse is the sugar maple leaf.

The Royal Canadian Mint began to introduce fractional-ounce gold coins in the Canadian Maple Leaf Series in 1982. In November of that year, the mint enhanced the gold purity of the coins from .999 to .9999 fineness. At that same point in time, the 1 oz gold coin gained partners in the form of the 1/4 oz and these 1/10 oz gold coins.

Following the successful launch of the 1/4 oz and 1/10 oz gold coins, the Royal Canadian Mint introduced a 1/2 oz gold coin in 1986, a 1/20 oz gold coin in 1993, and, briefly, a 1/15 oz gold coin. The latter was only available in 1994 to mark the 15th anniversary of the series. After that weight was discontinued in 1995, the mint added one final option with a 1 Gram coin in 2014.

The obverse of 2022 1/10 oz Gold Maple Leafs features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. In this fourth-generation portrait of Her Majesty, the Queen is shown wearing earrings and a necklace, but with no crown. This fact was a first during her reign for Canadian coin designs. Susanna Blunt created this portrait in 2003 and she is just the second Canadian artist to develop a monarch portrait for national coinage.

On the reverse side of the 2022 Gold Maple Leafs, you will find Walter Ott’s 1979 design of the sugar maple leaf. This side of the coins, as well as the obverse, comes with radial lines for anti-counterfeiting security.

These 2022 1/10 oz Gold Canadian Maple Leafs are available to you in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Multiples of 40 coins ship inside plastic sheets, while individual coins come in plastic flips.
