Kangaroos are the largest living marsupials today and come from the family Macropadidae. The root of that word, macropod, stands for large foot, a perfect family classification for the kangaroo given the large feet on its powerful hind legs. Kangaroos are indigenous to both Australia and New Guinea, and consist of four subspecies. The largest species is the red kangaroo, with the others being the antilopine kangaroo, eastern grey kangaroo, and western grey kangaroo.

All of these 2022 1/2 oz Proof Silver Royal Australian Kangaroos are available to you with beautiful packaging from the Royal Australian Mint. The coins are individually encapsulated and housed within black presentation boxes from the mint. The coin and case ship to you with a green, kangaroo-themed shipper and have a Certificate of Authenticity included with purchase.

On the obverse of 2022 Proof Silver Royal Australian Kangaroos is a modern depiction of Queen Elizabeth II. The sixth-generation effigy of the Queen on Australian coins, this design was created by Jody Clark in 2015 and first appeared on Royal Mint of England coinage starting in 2016. It shows the Queen at the age of 89 wearing the George IV State Diadem Crown on her head.

The reverse face of the 2022 1/2 oz Proof Silver Kangaroo features the image of a lone kangaroo. This kangaroo is bounding across the Outback as it moves through some blades of tall grass. The background has stylized, artistic lines that background the previous bounding movements of the kangaroo. Kangaroos have a unique gait that relies on powerful hind legs for forward motion and a muscular tail for balance.
