The Lunar Series III collection started in 2020 at Perth Mint. It was the immediate follow-up to the Lunar Series II program that had run from 2008 to 2019, and is set to run from 2020 to 2031. The Year of the Tiger is the third in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese Lunar Calendar, with 12 different animals for each of the dates.

With the release of gold coins in the Year of the Tiger collection, Perth Mint offers a total of seven options for investors to purchase. The primary option, and the only one with a mintage limit, is the 1 oz gold coin. The series offers 10 oz and 2 oz weights above that mark, with four fractional-ounce coins.

The obverse of 2022 1/4 oz Gold Lunar Tiger Coins comes with an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is shown here in right-profile relief wearing the George IV State Diadem Crown on her head. This design was created for the Royal Mint of England in 2015 by Jody Clark. It is the sixth-generation portrait to feature on Australian coins during the Queen’s reign.

On the reverse side of 2022 Gold Australian Lunar Tigers is a depiction of a powerful tiger. The largest living cat today, the tiger has massive paws and a long, powerful body with shorter legs than other species of wild cats. In this design, the tiger stands along a rock ledge.

These 2022 1/4 oz Gold Australian Lunar Tigers are available to you for purchase in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The coins in this weight are offered individually in plastic capsules or by multiples of 20 coins in rolls.
