The Year of the Tiger is the third in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese Lunar Calendar. While all of the world’s bullion programs celebrating the animals from the Zodiac showcase the proper animal with each date mark, only the Perth Mint’s series starts on the proper first year of the cycle, the Year of the Mouse, and concludes in the proper final year of the cycle, the Year of the Pig.
All of these 2022 1/4 oz Proof Gold Australian Lunar Tigers come with protective packaging from Perth Mint. Each coin is enclosed in a capsule and set within the slot of a red-and-gold display box. The box has a magnetic lid with the release details on the lid. The box is housed within a Year of the Tiger shipper from Perth Mint that has tiger artwork on the outside. A Certificate of Authenticity is available from Perth Mint with your purchase.
On the obverse of 2022 Proof Gold Australian Lunar Tigers is a depiction of Queen Elizabeth II> The longest-reigning monarch in British history, Elizabeth II features on all Australian coins in her role as the Queen of Australia and head of the Commonwealth. This portrait was created in July 2015 by Jody Clark for the Royal Mint and came to Perth Mint coins for the first time in 2018.
The reverse side of 2022 1/4 oz Proof Gold Lunar Tigers comes with the image of an adult tiger. Created by Monique Reeves, this design is exclusive to the gold coins in the series and features a tiger as it stands along the edge of a cliff.
