Since 1990, the Perth Mint has focused on producing bullion coin collections showcasing the natural flora and fauna of the Australian continent. While the kangaroo, kookaburra, and koala have long dominated this overall product lineup, more unique species have been added to these collections in recent years, such as the 2018 debut of the Australian Emu. Now, 2022 1 oz Gold Australian Emus are available to you for purchase online from Silver.com.

Coin Highlights:

  • Coins ship to you in protective capsules, sealed plastic rolls of 20 coins, or mint-sealed Monster Boxes of 100 coins!
  • Fifth coin in the Gold Australian Emu Series!
  • Mintage limited to 5,000 coins only!
  • Consists of One Troy ounce of .9999 fine gold in BU condition.
  • Issued a face value of $100 (AUD) by Australia.
  • Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse.
  • Two emus are shown in the reverse.
  • Artwork by Neil Hollis.

In 1990, Perth Mint introduced the first coins to feature depictions of native animals on the reverse of bullion coins. The existing Gold Nugget bullion coins were transitioned to feature kangaroos instead, while the new Silver Kookaburra was introduced. Both of these programs remain in production to date with new designs on the reverse each year.

Over the course of the next three decades, the coins available from Perth Mint expanded to include the Australian Koala, Australian Wedge Tail Eagle, Australian Swan, Australian Wombat, Australian Quokka, and the Australian Emu. The new Australian Emu coins come in both silver and gold coins for sale.

Queen Elizabeth II is on the obverse of 2022 1 oz Gold Emu Coins. This design was initially created in 2015 by Jody Clark for the Royal Mint of England and was introduced to Australian coins for the first time in 2018. The sixth-generation effigy to grace Australian coins, this portrait shows the Queen in right-profile relief with the George IV State Diadem Crown on her head.

Two emus are depicted in the reverse design of the 2022 Gold Australian Emu. In this new design, the head and neck of an emu is featured in the foreground in right-profile relief while the full image of an emu in left-profile relief is shown in the background field. On this side, Perth Mint includes a micro-laser engraved security letter only visible under magnification.

These 2022 1 oz Gold Australian Emus are available individually or in bulk. Individual coins come in protective capsules. Multiples of 20 coins are sealed together in plastic rolls with the capsules included. Multiples of 100 are housed together in a box with five rolls of 20 coins in total.

We also never have access to your credit/debit card details, as they are securely communicated directly to the payment processor (Authorize.net) and never retained by Silver.com. For this reason, we also don't process credit/debit card orders over the phone, as it is the least secure way to process those transactions.

Where does your spot price come from?

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
