While we celebrate the history of the United States, it is also important to acknowledge and show our respect for the Native American tribes who occupied this land before us. This is the idea behind the exquisite new series by the Native American Mint known as Native America the Beautiful. The series consists of 50 coins for each state and highlights a tribe and historic landmark for each one. Today, 2022 1 oz Proof Silver Native America the Beautiful California Coins are available to purchase online from Silver.com.

Each release in the Native America the Beautiful series contains a reference usually tied to the geographical location depicted on the coin. For the California issue, that reference is Uzumate, which is the origin of the word Yosemite. It translates to Grizzly Bear, since these creatures were common to the region. The Ahwahnechee people who lived there were called Uzumates by the white settlers because they possessed the necessary skills for killing these bears. Today, the region is known as Yosemite National Park.

All 2022 1 oz Native America the Beautiful California Coins have been produced under the monetary jurisdiction of the Mesa Grande Sovereign Nation. Each coin includes a beautiful Native American-themed design corresponding to the state of California. They are housed inside special display boxes and include a Certificate of Authenticity.

A Native American settlement is depicted on the obverse of 2022 1 oz Proof Silver Native America the Beautiful Coins. Details include a tribal figure sitting in a field, a series of tipis, pine trees, and the majestic rock formation El Capitan. The words Uzumate, Ahwahnechee, California, and 2022 are inscribed along the coin’s edges.

A Native American eagle motif is shown on the reverse side of 2022 Native America the Beautiful California Coins. This includes the face of an eagle with a stunning pattern surrounding it. The name of the series, weight, denomination, and purity are all shown on the reverse side as well.
