It’s hard to imagine the US Mint being able to improve on the popularity of the Silver American Eagle Series. It has long been one of the world’s top silver bullion coin collections, and starting with the Great Recession in the 2000s and market turmoil in the 2010s, the Silver Eagle vaulted to a new level of popularity around the world as a safe haven metal. With the 2021 introduction of a new reverse design element, the series is poised to continue attracting investors and collectors for decades to come.

All of these 2022 1 oz Silver American Eagles come in special packaging. These coins are individually sealed in plastic clamshells with a special card around the packaging. You’ll see the Silver Eagle at the center of the card design, with the colorful card around it offering the perfect theme and well-wishes for those graduating this coming spring.

On the obverse of 2022 Silver American Eagles is Walking Liberty. This design from 1916 captures Liberty in left-profile relief as she strides along the horizon toward the sun as it crests a mountain range in the distance. Liberty is draped in the American flag and carries the branches of oak and laurel in her left hand.

The reverse side of the 2022 1 oz Silver Eagle comes with the new 2020 design of the American bald eagle from Emily Damstra. Now in its first full year of availability, the new bald eagle design shows the aerial predator in flight as it swoops down into view clutching a large oak branch in its talons.
