In 2021, the United States Mint introduced the first-ever design change for the Silver Eagle coins. The new reverse design from Emily Damstra was chosen in 2020 and went into production in July 2021. The design was part of a dual-release in 2021 that saw the US Mint issue Type 1 coins through the first half of the year with the heraldic eagle design, before retiring that design and introducing the new one from Emily Damstra.

All of the 2022 1 Silver American Eagles in this listing come to you inside individual presentation cards. These clamshell cards have a secure space at the center for the coin with a decorative card around the central space. In the case of these cards, the design is perfect for friends or family welcoming a baby girl in 2022. The card has pink hues with background design elements reflecting balloons, bows, clouds, and stars. The front of the card has a special message noting It’s A Girl, while the back of the card comes with the identifying hallmarks of the coin.

On the obverse of 2022 Silver American Eagles is the iconic image of Walking Liberty. This left-profile effigy of Liberty walking with her right hand extended and her left carrying branches of oak and laurel was created in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman. It is widely believed to have been inspired by the French coin design known as The Sower.

The reverse face of the 2022 1 oz Silver Eagle features a new design of the American bald eagle. First issued midway through the 2021 release schedule, this visual shows a bald eagle in flight with its wings flexed and its talons carrying an oak branch.
