Introduced in 1986, the Silver American Eagle has grown to become the leading silver bullion coin in the world. The series offers only a 1 oz silver option in BU, Proof, and Burnished options, with the BU coin being the best-selling silver coin. The 2021 release offered the first look at a new design on the reverse side, a first in the history of the Silver Eagles. 2022 marks the first year in which the coin features only the new reverse. Today, 2022 1 oz Silver American Eagle Tubes are available to you online at Silver.com.

On the obverse of 2022 Silver American Eagles is a depiction of Walking Liberty. This design was created in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman for the US half dollar. It featured on that coin until 1947. The design is believed to have been inspired by Oscar Roty’s 1897 depiction of Le Semeuse, or the Sower. This figure was a left-profile relief of a female allegory walking across the field. Weinman’s Walking Liberty looks similar, with her right hand outstretched and her left carrying branches of oak and laurel.
The reverse side of 2022 1 oz Silver American Eagles in these tubes comes with the brand-new design from Ms. Damstra. This visual shows a bald eagle with flexed wings as it clutches a large oak branch.
