When Star Trek: The Original Series was first released on television in the United States, there were a number of characters that viewers quickly came to recognize. These stalwarts of the franchise include Captain James T. Kirk, Spok, Leonard McCoy, and Scotty.

Each of these characters has appeared in New Zealand Mint’s Chibi Star Trek Series with the recent introduction of a Scotty Chibi figure in the fourth release. Chibi is a Japanese slang term for a form of caricature artwork that accentuates the size of the head while shrinking the body and appendages.

The obverse of 2022 Silver Niue Chibi Star Trek Scotty Shaped Coins features an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. This 1998 portrait from Ian Rank-Broadley depicts the Queen in right-profile relief wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. This design served as the fourth-generation effigy for British coins through 2015.

On the reverse side of 2022 1 oz Silver Chibi Star Trek Scotty Shaped Coins is a Chibi caricature depicting Scotty. Known by the full name of Montgomery Scott, Scotty was the engineer aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise and featured throughout the entirety of The Original Series.

These 2022 1 oz Silver Niue Chibi Star Trek Scotty Shaped Coins are available to you inside custom-shaped cases and come with a Star Trek-themed shipper that includes a viewing window on the front so you can see the coin.
