The Warriors of the World is a new series of silver coins for sale at the New Zealand Mint. This collection of Chibi caricatures takes a lighter look at some of history’s deadliest warriors. For the first two issues of the series, the designs focused on the talented warriors of Feudal and Medieval Japan. Following the debut of the Samurai, the mint featured the image of a Ninja. Today, 2022 1 oz Silver Niue Chibi Warriors of the World Ninja Shaped Coins are available to you online at Silver.com.

  • On the obverse is Queen Elizabeth II.
  • The reverse features the image of a Ninja clad in the Ninja-Yoroi outfit.

Like the Samurai class of warriors in Japan, Ninjas are deeply rooted in the history of this island culture. Though the first written records of Ninjas, or shinobi, appeared during the Sengoku period around the 15th century, it is widely believed that predecessors to these types of covert agents existed as far back as the 12th century.

All of the 2022 1 oz Silver Niue Chibi Warriors of the World Ninja Shaped Coins are available to you for purchase with presentation packaging from the New Zealand Mint. Each coin has its own custom-designed case matching the exact shape of the Ninja Chibi figure. The coin and case arrive in a themed shipper that has a large viewing window on the front so you can always see the coin design. The Certificate of Authenticity and individual serial number are both printed on the box.

On the obverse of 2022 Silver Chibi Warriors of the World Ninja Shaped Coins is a depiction of Queen Elizabeth II. In this right-profile relief, Her Majesty is shown wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. Ian Rank-Broadley created this effigy of the Queen in 1998 and it featured on British coins first before being used on the coinage of various Commonwealth Nations.

The reverse side of 2022 1 oz Silver Chibi Ninja Shaped Coins is the image of a Ninja warrior clad in a black Ninja-Yoroi. Ninjas and Samurai existed during the same time period in Japanese history, but the irregular style of warfare and covert, deceptive nature of some of their activities put Ninjas below the honor of Samurai warriors in Japan’s caste system.
